Show Oil Wells In Utah Total 852 Utah had 852 producing oil wells at the end of 1965. The state's proven reserves re-serves are estimated at 219,508,000 barrels. John B. Merritt, president of Borg-Warner's Byron Jackson Inc. division, claims that Utah could harvest har-vest an estimated $263,409,-600 $263,409,-600 bonus during the next few decades by using newly- developed technology for secondary recovery from sluggish oil wells. Only about 40 to 50 per cent of the oil of any single well or field is recovered under primary pumping methods, Mr. Merritt claims. Thus, as much as 131,704,800 barrels possibly could remain unclaimed in the state's wells. |
