Show Former resident dies on coast; burial held here Funeral services were held at the Berg Mortuary, Springville, Spring-ville, Monday forenoon, for William Wallace Noakes, 61, a former resident of this city, who died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 1966, in a San Francisco, California Calif-ornia hospital. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Noakes was born March 14, 1905, in Springville, a son of William I. and Catherine Boyack Noakes. He married Zella Marriott, Oct. 25, 1933, in Provo. They were later divorced. di-vorced. He was educated in Springville Spring-ville schools, graduated from Springville High School and studied business at BYU. He moved to California and worked in mines in Grass Valley, Val-ley, later going to San Francisco. Fran-cisco. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his discharge he returned re-turned to San Francisco where he resided until his death. He was a member of the LDS Church. Surviving are one daughter, Geraldine Noakes of Palm Desert, Des-ert, Calif.; three brothers, Ralph Noakes, Camerillo, California; Cal-ifornia; Sterling G. Noakes, Provo, and Fred Bernell Noakes, Orem. |
