Show Open letter Petaluma City gives thanks to Springville Editors note: The following open letter was sent this week for publication in the Springville Spring-ville Herald: We, the people of Petaluma, California, wish to express our sincere gratitude to the citizens of Springville for their wonderful wonder-ful hospitality and for the courtesy extended to our Pony League All Stars. The boys' trip to your wonderful won-derful community is an experience exper-ience they will long remember and a memory they will cherish. cher-ish. We're at a loss as to how to properly express our sincere thanks to all the management manage-ment of the Country Club Motel Mo-tel where the boys were so graciously received; the families fam-ilies who took our boys into their homes; the tournament directors; and, all the people of Springville who attended the games. Viv Fauser, manager of the All Stars; Bob Canley, coach; Bob Vyenielo, business manager and Mrs. Olive Simoni, commentator com-mentator for our radio station KTOB, have all asked that we endeavor to say "thanks" to the people of Sprinigivlle. The parents who accompanied the boys are, of course, very grateful grate-ful for the fine reception they received. (Mrs. Simoni has asked that a special thanks be sent along to the lady who lives across from the ball park for the use of her telephone to communicate with the radio station). How do you say "thanks" to a community that has opened its heart and its homes to a group of young people who aspire as-pire to be tomorrow's baseball greats? I know of only one way THANK YOU SPRINGVILLE! SPRING-VILLE! ! Helen Putnam Mayor City of Petaluma, California Most sincerely, |
