Show Attendance at BYU increases For the third year in a row, BYU's attendance at home basketball games has soared over the 100,000 mark. The Cougars, who enjoyed one of their better home stands during dur-ing the 1965-66 season drew a total of 111,722 fans to 11 home games. This was the third highest season total in the 14-year history of the George Albert Smith Field-house. Field-house. Fans passed through the turnstiles in record numbers in the season just concluded. The season average for 11 home games was 10,157 second only to last year's record-high of 10,186. Twice during the recent campaign, game attendance at home went over the 11,000 mark in the 10,200-seat capacity capac-ity fieldhouse. But the game average and the season total sagged a little with the University Uni-versity of America's game, a late addition to the schedule which drew only 6,415 fans. |
