Show Officers warn on dumping debris in streets It has been brought to the attention of city officials that citizens, getting the urge to prune trees and shrubs and rake yards, are placing the debris de-bris on the streets, expecting perhaps that the garbage collectors col-lectors will pick it up. Such action by property owners of placing trash outside out-side their own property, is against a city ordinance, it is pointed out. It hampers the work of road crews in repairing repair-ing and doing other necessary work on the streets and is most unsightly. In many cases, it blows down the street and litters the entire area. Those who have limbs and leaves should haul them away themselves or it may be placed in a box or other container and put out on garbage collection day. There is to be a special week set aside for city cleanup and at this time, tree prunnings and other debris will be hauled away fcy city employees, it is pointed out. Those people who continue to dump debris on the streets will be liable for a citation, it is stated. |
