Show entry from each state selected from among the district winners win-ners to enter the national competition. com-petition. The first place in national na-tional will get $500 scholarship and five other scholarships will be given. Those who win in the state receive a $100 and a trip to Washington D.C., to participate partici-pate in the finals. VFW announces high school script contest Under the co-sponsorship of the Springville VFW Post 5787 and the Auxiliary, a script writing contest is being conducted con-ducted in the high school on the subject, "Democracy, What it Means to Me." Students in Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth grades have entered the contest. con-test. The ten best scripts will be selected from those students participating and these will be given Dec. 2, at 8 p.m., at the Memorial Hall. From the ten, a first, second and third place winner will be named. The first place winner will go to the district and district winners to the state and the Utah winner to the national finals.
