Show Writer contest offers prizes Cash prizes totaling $1,300 will be awarded to authors of outstanding works submitted in the Eighth Annual Original Writing Contest of the Utah State Institute of Fine Arts. This announcement was made by Mrs. Harold K. Beecher, chairman of the Literary Lit-erary Arts Committee of the Institute which conducts the contest. Deadline for submitting entries en-tries for this year's contest is July 31, 1965. Complete details of the contest may be obtained by writing to the Art Institute office, 55 West First South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101. The purpose of the contest is to encourage creative writing writ-ing in the fields of literature, poetry and drama. Entries are judged by a panel of competent compe-tent and impartial experts in these .fields. Cash awards are made on the basis of their decisions. de-cisions.
