Show Work underway on highway in Price Canyon Road construction in Price Canyon officially began this week as ground breaking ceremonies cer-emonies were held near Castle Gate, Price Canyon. The event signals the beginning of over 4 million dollars in new road construction through the narrow nar-row winding canyon northwest of Price. The new road will eliminate dangerous curves and steep grades. It will be safe at speeds of at least 50. m.p.h Truck lanes will also be pro vided so that motorists will n longer have to follow large ve hides slowly up the canyon. A representative of the con tractor, the H-E LowdermiL. Company, indicated that thej expect construction will b complete within one calendai year, or about half the allotec time. A detour has been provided so that the ultimate in safety will be maintained for the motoring mo-toring public during the construction con-struction period. It is expected that the Price Canyon road will be closed to traffic in about thirty days. It was 51 years ago when tiie first motor vehicle traveled Price Canyon roads. Since that time the road has been repaired and up-dated several times. The present road largely follows the reconstruction made in 1931. Construction is complicated not only by the right terrain of the canyon but also by the fact that a railroad, the Price River, and numerous utilities also compete for the right-of-way. Sandwiches are at their flavorful fla-vorful best when the fillings are generous, have a bit of moisture without being wet, and are spread clear to the edge of the bread. |
