Show Calendar lists outdoor dates The following calendar of dates concerning Utah's outdoor out-door seasons was listed for the state's sportsmen today by the Department of Fish and Game. The general fishing season continues through November 30, with many waters open after that date on an all year basis. The mourning dove season closed September 15 in all counties except Beaver, Carbon, Car-bon, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, Em-ery, Garfield, Grand, Iron, Juab, Ju-ab, Kane, Millard, Piute, San Juan, Sanpete, Sevier, Uintah, Wasatch, Washington and Wayne counties, and that portion por-tion of Tooele county described describ-ed in the proclamation, where the season will remain open through September 30. Seasons on chukar and hun-garian hun-garian partridge will get underway un-derway throughout the state on September 19. Forest grouse hunt will begin be-gin on September 26 on a state wide hunt. Most elk and moose permit holders will begin their hunting hunt-ing on September 19, althrough later openings are set on three elk hunting units. The annual waterfowl season begins at noon, October 10 and runs continuously from that date until January 7. Utah hunters will have an opportunity to bag a wild tur- key for Thanksgiving during a five-day hunt, beginning on October 10 in three hunting areas. The general deer hunting season begins October 17 with earlier openings set for two deer herd units. On the Black's Fork and part of Range Creek units, the hunt will begin on October 10. Other upland bird hunts for pheasant and quail will get underway un-derway November 7 at 8:00 a.m. The department again reminded re-minded that it is the obligation obliga-tion of the license holder to know and observe the laws covering each season.
