I really can't make much of a decision as to who to vote for." Robin Murdock: "No I don't feel I've been informed in-formed enough. As a college student I haven't seen the candidates strive to get the votes of many of the younger voters. If the candidates would like the votes of the students and other young people then I think they would actively strive to inform them on the issues." Ann Hansen: "I feel like that if I haven't been then it's my own fault. We do have a brochure at home listing all the candidates and I really try to study them. I feel pretty well informed on most of them because I've made it a point to study a about them." Beverly Ford: "I've certainly heard a lot about most of the candidates can-didates from watching TV or other ways. I've read a little about the candidates. I feel I'll be prepared because I have read. I think it's important im-portant that people do read and listen." CEDAR CITY This Tuesday Iron County voters, along with voters all over the country, will go to the polls to elect the candidates of their choice. Political battles in Utah and in Iron County have become highly publicized. But are voters really informed enough? This week we sent our man on the street out to discover if voters feel they know enough to vote. The following question was posed: Do you feel you've been informed enough by the candidates to vote intelligently? in-telligently? Wayne Hinton: "I think people have been informed in-formed enough if they've been paying attention, if they've been reading the flyers that are circulating and paying attention to the campaign issues. I think the candidates have done a pretty good job of informing the voters of the basic issues." Michael J. Harris: "I've been informed on some aspects, but I think the candidates also could have gone more in depth on others. I think basically the candiates are just going on whether you're a Democrat or a Republican. I think they could have informed a little more." Preston Lorensen: "I don't feel I've been that informed about the issues enough. I haven't seen too many debates which is a good way of informing |
