Friends of the Gallery begin annual membership drive CEDAR CITY Dr. Rodney A. Brown, Cedar City dentist and chairman chair-man of Friends of the Gallery, announced that "Friends of the Gallery" is embarking on its annual an-nual membership drive. Chairman Brown noted, "The immediate response is good, and it is expected that we will have another excellent year." "Friends of the Gallery" is a citizens' development association dedicated to promoting fine arts education and cultural development throught he Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at Southern Utah State College, Cedar City. The "Friends" membership continues to be a an impressive roster of leading citizens and businesses throughout Utah and the West. ''Friends have established a significant record of accomplishments," ac-complishments," said Brown. "They have sponsored important exhibits, guest artist lectures and demonstrations, demon-strations, film programs, art purchases for the permanent collection, gifts of creditable art and given generous amounts of service in kind. Gallery hours have been extended to include weekday evenings and Sunday afternoons. In addition to the year-round, year-round, personal enjoyment en-joyment of the Gallery's quality events, Friends of The Gallery enjoy certain other benefits. Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Nov. 17, has been set for the Annual Friends Dinner. Special exhibit previews have been planned. A discount on art purchases will be given for many exhibits. Special guided tours of the Gallery's exhibits can be arranged. There will be special lectures, art demonstrations and film showings. |
