CEDAR CITY - A senior art major at Southern Utah State College has been awarded the SUSC Faculty Senate Scholarship for 1982-83. J. Troy Lazenby, Payson, has been awarded the full-tuition, $561 scholarship on the basis of his academic record and performance as an artist, according to Richard. A. Dotson, senate president. Lazenby graduated from Payson High School where he was president of the art club, student-of-the-month and the Outstanding Out-standing Art Studnnt for 1979. He attended SUSC his freshman and sophomore years as the recipient of art department scholarships and his junior year as the recipient of the Broad-bent Broad-bent Art Scholarship. He was the SUSC School of Arts and Letters nominee for the 1982-83 Institutional In-stitutional Council Scholarship. While at SUSC Lazenby has worked for two and one-half years as a technical assistant at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. He has served two terms as president of the SUSC Art Guild and has exhibited his works in several student shows at the gallery. His works have also appeared in the 1982 Utah Intercollegiate Art Show and in various Nevada exhibitions. Lazenby is the son of Larry and Ann Lazenby, Payson. He is married to the former Marly Moil, a SUSC student majoring in sociology. Following his graduation from SUSC this year he plans to obtain a masters degree in art conservation.
