Show CHS-PHS plan to attend seminar through the Extension Service and the 4-H program with a program to . make young people aware of their American heritage and expecially the role they are to play in the operation CEDAR CITY - High school seniors from Parowan and Cedar High Schools will participate in a Voter Awareness Seminar on Feb. 4 at Southern Utah State College. The program begins at 9 a.m. in the Music Recital Hall and is sponsored by Utah State University 4-H and is headed up by Edwin L. Peterson, former Cedar City resident. Peterson noted that recently the public was shocked by a national survey that showed that a very high percent of student-aged population had only a vague idea about how the country that gave them their free education was operated. They did not know the names or the titles of municipal officials. The voting record of 18 to 24 year olds reflected little interest in the process that makes government operate.
