Show 50- year club to meet A very speical party has been planned Friday to welcome the Branch Agricultural Class of 1930 into the ranks of the Southern Utah State College 50-Year Club. Activities will begin at 4 p.m. with a "visiting hour," then will continue at 6 p.m. with the annual 50-Year Club Banquet. SUSC Follies, a colorful revue of past and present college talent, will follow the banquet. "We are very pleased to welcome the class of 1930 into the ranks of the prestigious 50-Year Club 'an organizaiton which limits membership to alumni who graduated from SUSC 50 or more years ago," said Maude Halversen, cfcu b president. "StJSC President Orville D. Carnahan will officially greet club newcomers." "Owen Sanders, Hurricane, will serve as master of ceremonies for our banquet program," Mrs. Halversen said. "The program will include in-clude several musical numbers prepared by 50-Year 50-Year Club members and college alunmi, and a reminiscence of SUSC as it was in 1930 by classmate Elwood Corry, Cedar City." Tickets for the banquet can be obtained from Mrs. Halversen, the 50-Year 50-Year Club committee,-or ran Peg Thorley tj he Alumni House, 586-8791. The $5 cost covers the price of the roast beef dinner and light refreshments refresh-ments at the preliminary "visiting hour." In addition to Mrs. Halversen, the 50-Year Club committee includes Keith Smith, presidentelect; president-elect; Theo Corry, past-president; past-president; and class representatives DeMoin Jones and Hilda W. Adams. "Reservations for the banquet must by made by Thursday at noon," the club president said. |
