Show Doovor Gify fo got zero pluo dialing The growth rate of Long distance calls for Mountain Bell Is 50 higher than the rest of the Bell System. The Zero Plus system will become operational at different dif-ferent times for Milford and Minersville, effective March 5. For fast, direct contact with emergency service agencies, customers should familiarize themselves with the local emergency numbers num-bers on the inside of the front cover of the telephone directory. After February 26, teter phone customers in Beaver will have a convenient new method of dialing their own long distance calls requirf ing operator assistance. Technicians from Mountain Moun-tain Bell and Western Electric Elec-tric are in the final phase of connecting equipment to permit customers to use the 'Zero Plus' dialing. Beginning Begin-ning next Tuesday, this equipment will be serving customers whose telephone numbers begin with 438. Using Zero Plus, customers custo-mers are able to dial their own collect, person to person, per-son, credit card, and third party billing calls. Simply dial "O" and then the telephone number, including in-cluding the area code if the call is outside Utah. An operator op-erator will briefly come on the line to find out what type of call is being placed. The operator office inCe-dar inCe-dar City will be phased out of service and those operators opera-tors who want to transfer are being offered other telephone tele-phone company assignments. |
