But we doubt that Congress Intended the Antiquity Act to protect every stray arrowhead from a roaming hunters bow. Nor is it intended in-tended that an overnight camp of a migrating tribe be preserved for posterity. It's just another instance of vague and ambigous laws being misinterpreted by the bureaucracys. There are some fabulous local collections, and thousands thou-sands of individual collections collec-tions throughout the country. They represent a considerable consider-able investment in time and money. Most are prized and carefully preserved. But under the Antiquities Act, the owners must be able to prove they were collected collect-ed before the act was passed, pass-ed, hide then, learn to make them, or face the possibility possibil-ity that they will be confiscated. The best deal on the horizon hor-izon for any organization in the county that wants to m ake a few bucks is designing the Beaver County booth at the Utah State Fair. But time is short. Your design drawn in detail, to fit the eight x nine foot booth must be submitted to Ye ol' Ed or turned in at the COUNTY COUN-TY NEWS by next Wednesday, Wed-nesday, August 9th. They will then be judged by the Beaver County Fair Board at the Beaver County Coun-ty Fair August 10-11-12. The organization with the winning design will receive $1,000.00 and the privilege of reproducing the design in the Beaver County booth at the Utah State Fair. Judging will be on originality of theme, conformance confor-mance of theme, attractiveness attractive-ness of booth and educational education-al value as related to the county's potential. How much the organization spends on the booth is insignificant, in-significant, and will not be used as a criteria in judging. judg-ing. He's getting get-ting caught in the middle. He can't raise prices fast enough to keep up with the cost increases to keep merchandise mer-chandise on the shelf let alone the power, freight and other overhead costs. But, then, when the consumer con-sumer takes a beating, the small business takes a bigger big-ger beating.
