Show Tigoro tag Gunnison Poroujan Friday Milford jumped to an 18-13 18-13 first quarter lead, then broke Gunnison's fall-court press with a 19-8 second quarter, to take coram and 37 -8 at half time. Coach Hillock, with Gary Mayer just back from chicken pox, and short, big Steve Moody, started little Denny Myers to chase the Bulldogs. Lots of questionable charging fouls benched Ken Jones and Mark Whitney early, ear-ly, and Brad Kirk late, but the bench was up to it, and Hillock was able to coast the final period. Jones had 19 points even with the long rest and Mayer May-er 16, sitting out most of the final period. Kirk had 9, Williams 8, and Myers 6 for the Tigers. Ronald Nay played tough under the boards and turned in 19 to lead the Bulldogs. David Bown and Scott Mad-sen Mad-sen had nine each and sophomore soph-omore Ronnie Hill 8. Milford picked up 49 rebounds re-bounds to 30 for Gunnison. Jones had 12, Whitney 11 and Mayer 10. Kirk had 10 as -fiists, Mayer 3, and Myers 4. The Tigers hit only 33 percent from the floor to 40 percent for Gunnison. From the foul line Milford had 9 of 14 for 64 percent. Gunnison Gun-nison hit 15 of 24 for 58 percent. Milford had the advantage ad-vantage on turnovers, 13-16. Friday the Tigers travel to Parowan. The Rams are tough this year, and always give the Tigers a run on their home floor. Saturday Satur-day Enterprise will be at Milford. |
