Show At the Minersville Ward Fast and Testimony meeting meet-ing Sunday, Bishop Earl limb presided. Conducting was counselor, Kent Marshall. Music was by Eleanore Marshall Mar-shall and Reva Williams. Opening prayer was given by Mike Glllins. Dean and Terry Eyre had their son blessed. Many testimonies were borne. Kallie Anderson, accompanied accom-panied by her father, Jack Anderson, visited Reno, Nevada Ne-vada last week. They stayed with their relatives, Paul DeeBee, and cousins. Calvin and Debbie Hutch -ings are the proud parents of a new baby boy. He was born last week in the Beaver hospital. He weighed 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and will be named Shawn. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gillins, Minersville. Ricky Gillins went to the temple Wednesday to get his endowments. Those who attended at-tended with him were Bishop and Mrs. Earl Limb, Mrs. Theone Mosher, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Marshall, Betty Marshall, Grace Bealer, Mr. and Mrs. Net Craw, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Blackburn, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Glllins and Thurman Eyre. The Minersville Ward Relief Re-lief Society had a party for their officers and teachers Thursday night. They had an enjoyable dinner and played volleyball. The MlnersvllleAmerican Legion and Legion Auxiliary held the Legion birthday dinner din-ner Wednesday night. A roast beef dinner was served by Pres. Wilma Davis and com -mittee members Virginia Marshall, Helen Davis, and Eleanore Marshall. The evening eve-ning was enjoyed with dancing danc-ing after dinner. Last week the YoungAdult Basketball team of Minersville Miners-ville won the Stake Ball Tour -nament. Daisy Reusch was in Minersville Min-ersville on Monday visiting friends. Ilene and Delmer Gray had visitors over the weekend. week-end. Leslie Gray and his wife and family were visiting visit-ing from Las Vegas. Literary Club was held at Gwen Pryor's home on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, March 9th. Joan and Stacle Makin are visiting in Salt Lake this week. They are there for medical purposes. Nancy Walker gave birth to a baby girl last week at the Milford hospital.She will be named Angela. She weighed weigh-ed 8 lbs. 6 ozs. Effie Marshall, Phyllis Truman, Betty Marshall, Connie Marshall, and Eleanore Elea-nore Marshall attended a bridal shower for their granddaughter and niece, Tamra Hunt. Tamra is the daughter of Rachel andClin-ton andClin-ton Hunt of Cedar City. Clinton Thompson was hit by a car in Salt Lake last week. He has a broken hip and some of his ribs were also broken. He received surgery Monday morning at the LDS Hospital. Mrs. Marie Marshall was in Salt Lake on business Saturday and Sunday. She was accompanied by her son, Glen, and a nephew, Paul Messenger. Robert Anderson, grandson grand-son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester W. Roberts, is home on leave area finals next week. They are coached by Tim Marshall. Mar-shall. The Senior MM en also won their Stake Basketball Cham -pionship. They will also participate par-ticipate in an area play-off. Aletha Gillins Is recovering recover-ing from surgery. She is in the University Hospital in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jameson have had their daughter, Dorene, visiting with them. Also visiting at the Jamesons is their granddaughter, Carma, and their great-granddaughter. They are visiting here from Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Laurance (Martha) Knotts visited at the home of Keith and Shirley Shir-ley Hollingshead over the weekend. Jody Eyre was home over the weekend visiting her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. James Eyre. . Dean and Terry Eyre had their infant son blessed and named in Fast and Testimony Testi-mony Meeting, Sunday. He was given the name of Bradley Brad-ley Dean by his grandfather, Brent Smith. Those family members attending were; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Eyre and family, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Eyre and family, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Eyre, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Carter, and Mr. andMrs. Bruce Williams. Wil-liams. A family dinner was held afterwards at Dean and Terry's home. There were 40 family members in attendance. at-tendance. Nine Minersville boys, between be-tween the ages of 6 and 11, participated in a Wrestling Meet held at Hurricane on Saturday, March 5. All of the boys had a very fun time and received red and blue ribbons. Bishop andMrs. Earl Limb stayed in St. George at the Stake Temple cottage and worked at the temple for a week. Rulon and Rachel Eyre have been in Arizona sightseeing sight-seeing and enjoying the horse races. Annette and Ron Mayer and son were here over the weekend to attend the Milford ballgame at Beaver and to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Truman and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Mayer. Bill and Kay Kelsey and Chris and Connie Marshall enjoyed a night out last week at the Black Steer Steak House. |
