Show 12 join national Buard by Mel Osborn Five high school seniors and seven men with prior service joined forces last Saturday to serve in the Utah National Guard with Beaver as their home station. The Beaver Unit is the service Battery Unit of the 222nd Artillery Battalion which is comprised of sis total units in the southern section of the state. The National Guard is a great opportunity for an individual in-dividual to gain military training and civilian occupational occu-pational training.Many young men are returning to establish estab-lish themselves in lucrative vocational jobs. In conjunction conjunc-tion with an educational opportunity, op-portunity, the modern National Na-tional Guard provides individuals indi-viduals with a substantial part-time income. For example, ex-ample, a young private entering en-tering his basic training may earn up to $470.00 per month and $50.00 a month upon returning and attending a two -day assembly. |
