The decrease in Mllford's 1974 mill levy was brought about by the revaluation program pro-gram that occurred throughout through-out Beaver County this year. Utah law requires that most local mill rates must be adjusted ad-justed downward in any year that higher assessments result re-sult from the statewide prop- 4 since 1950. Year Total Mill Levy 1950 60.73 1960 80.40 1965 96.24 1970 93.79 1973 99.13 1974 75.95 Approximately 52 of the total property taxes charged in Milford this year will go for school purposes. The Foundation report indicated that 31 of the property tax collected in Milford will go for municipal purposes, 12 for county purposes, and 5 for special district pur- erty reappraisal program. This reduction in local mill rates does not necessarily mean a decline in Milford tax burden. In many cases, the correction of underassessments underas-sessments for tax payers under the reappraisal program pro-gram will more than offset the mill levy reductions. Mllford's overall property tax levy in 1974 Is 75.95 mills ($75.95 per $1,000 assessed as-sessed valuation). This compares com-pares with a total levy of 99.13 mills In 1973 and 93.-79 93.-79 in 1970. The following tabulation shows the trend In Mllford's total tax rate |
