Show FANS TO GET FIRST LOOK: Tigers To Scrimage Friday, Infermural Coach Andrus will see how much his charges have learned with a week's tuti-lage tuti-lage - or how much they have forgotten in the past year. Practice started on Monday, Mon-day, August 19th, with thirty -six boys turning out for two-a-day workouts. They had been taking physical fitness training for the past week. Coach Andrus says they'll get their first chance to see what they can do Friday, as they have an Intramural scrimmage. Prospects look up this year - with thirty -six ballplayers ball-players turned out. This is the largest squad in a number num-ber of years. The last couple cou-ple of years Coach Andrus has had to work with under 30 players. Kanab is rated as a top contender this year - though they lost All-Stater Ken Brown to graduation. Beav er, last year's state champions champ-ions and Milford's first opponent, op-ponent, will undoubtedly have something left over. Coach Al Marshall, new BHS Principal, will be out to extend his record over the Tigers. With three state championships under his belt, he figures to be tough. South Sevier, which is new to the Tiger schedule, has been tough for a good many years. They'll most likely be ready for the Tigers. Coach Andrus is optimistic optimis-tic about this year's squad. Enthusiasm is up. There is a good bunch of Juniors and Seniors and an excellent turnout of ninth graders. However, he points out, there are a number of possibly pos-sibly good athletes who show no Interest or school spirit. spir-it. He'd like to see them in uniform, also. |
