Show DEAR EDITOR The facts from our County Assessor were very interesting, however I thi.nk he could have carried it out a little farther to bring out the fact that the Legislaion pased in 1969 went into effect July 1, 1970. This means that anyone not qualified oy the State cannot assess property pro-perty for tax purposes. If a county does not have a qualified quali-fied assessor, assessments will have to be made by State qualified qual-ified employees at a cost to the County of thirty percent of the assessment. This means a considerable con-siderable extra cost to the County in wages, and why the Assessor was bringing out the fact that it would be to the County's advantage to hire a man qualified at a much higher high-er wage and still be money ahead. If the men running for office want to be qualified for the position, they ca.n enroll in classes clas-ses that are starting Oct. 19, in Los Angeles, or Oct. 20, in Las Vegas. They can get the basic course at this section and will have to take at least two more courses and pass the State of Utah examination to be qualified. qual-ified. D. G.
