He escaped on a sweep play against Parowan and went all the way for a 75 yard touchdown. He'll be in his usual slot Friday night at the Tiger Field when the Tigers meet their cross-county rivals, Beaver. Be sure to be there. Tigers Down Rams; IM Beaver Friday A strong defense, will to win, and a. gpod offense made the difference and a victory over the Parowan Rams for the Milford Mil-ford Tigers in a hard fought contest last Friday night. The final score of 24-15 didn't tell the whole story, as Gary Smith, the Tiger stalwart at quarterback received some bruised ribs that might hinder him in the game against Beaver this Friday a.t Milford, The Tigers tough defense didn't let Parowan get a first down after the kick, Chad Ogden received the punt on Milford's 45 yard line and Tim Taylor got a 45 yard run for a touchdown to get things rolling fast in the early minutes. The attempt for the extra point failed, The Tigers ran Into penalty trouble after the kickoff and this brought the Rams into scoring position. After a few gaining plays they scored their first touchdown. A kick for the extra point was successful and the Rams led 7-6. The Tigers controlled the ball throughout the rest of the first quarter. Scott Cook on a punt play that didn't get off, swept around the right end for a first ; down. Taylor scored on a , sweep to the right. The extra point failed again and the quarter quar-ter ended, Milford 12-7. jg The Tigers entertain the Beaver squad this Friday at 8:00 p.m. at the MHS field. If the Tigers show up healthy it should be a real contest, and with a win over the Beaver squad, could go all the way. Milford hasn't beaten Beaver :n several years, so look for a good game, k Chad Ogden got Milford a first down as Milford took over control in the second quarter. Scott Cook gained 8 yards up the middle. On a fourth and two, a handoff to Taylor gained another first down. Then Ogden Og-den was tackled with goal to go. After three plays, Milford fumbled and Parowan took over at their own 2 yard line. Parowan was forced to punt without a first down and Milford Mil-ford had the ball again on then-own then-own 35 yard line. The rest of the second quarter quar-ter seen an interception by Cook, Smith got hurt running the ball and Robert Edwards took over the signal calling for a few plays. The half ended without any more scoring. Taylor received on the 27 yard line. Albreeht picked up - a couple of first and tens but - a fumble turned the ball ever cn the 50. i The Rams again couldn't get S , first and ten and punted to Milford's 20. Smith came back ii with a little tape over his ribs and on a sweep to right, Taylor ran 75 yards for another Tiger TD, Another miss on the PAT and Milford led 18 to 7. Parowan received and made 1st and 10 to put them on the 40 yards for a Parowan TD. Ram's quarterack sneaked for 40 yards for a bParowan TD. They ran the extra points and the score tightened up at 18-15. Milford controlled the ball for the rest of the third quarter. In the fourth Milford retained re-tained control and Taylor finally fin-ally scored on a fourth down with just a foot to goal in the last 2 minutes of the game. Parowan fumbled on second dewn and Milford controlled the ball the remainder of the game. The victory was sweet to the Milford crowd at 24-15. Curtis Davis was named lineman line-man of the week and Tim Taylor Tay-lor back of the week by the coaches for their extra effort in the Parowan game. |
