These tests, conducted on a glare ice course at Stevens Point, Wis., disclosed that conventional snow tires provided only a small improvement in pulling ability as compared com-pared with regular tires. Studded tires developed about three times the pull of regular tires, and reinforced tire chains developed de-veloped about seven times the pull of regular tires. Regardless of the type of traction device employed, however, how-ever, the League reminds motorists that driving speeds on icv Davements must be sharply reduced. |
