If you would like to give a Christmas or hostess gift that will be appreciated lor its la:; to as well as its thoughtfulness, stir up a batch of Coconut Fudge Drops. Made creamy smooth with Carnation's evaporated milk, the fudge is prepared pre-pared with just five minutes' cooking time. Economical evaporated evap-orated milk has many other uses too. It makes soups and stews creamier and meat loaves juicier. And it whips just like cream for use in chiffon desserts and whipped salads but costs much less and has fewer calories. COCONUT FUDGE DROPS (Makes about 2 pounds) 2 tablespoons butter IV2 cups (IV2 six-ounce !3 cup (small can) undi-- packages) semi-sweet luted velvelized evapo-: chocolate pieces rated milk 1 teaspoon each: grated IV3 cups sugar orange peel, vanilla lz teaspoon salt 1 cup llaked coconut 2 cups miniature marsh- 1 12 cup dark seedless mallows (about 4 ounces) 1 raisins Combine butter, evaporated milk, sugar and salt in saucepan sauce-pan over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Cook 5 minutes, stirring stir-ring constantly..' (Start timing when mixture starts to "bubble" around edges of pan). Remove from heat. Stir in marshmallows, chocolate pieces, orange peel and vanilla. Stir vigorously 1 minute (until marshmallows melt and blend.) Stir in coconut and raisins. Drop by teaspooniuls onto a buttered cookie sheet. Cool. |
