Smith ED SMITH FILES FOR LIONS CLUBS DISTRICT OFFICE Edmund L. Smith, secretary of the Milford Lions Club, will be a candidate for District Governor at the state convention conven-tion to be held in Price June 9, .10 and 11. He is the first to announce from Zone C of District 28-H. Mr. Smith, a native of Den-ison, Den-ison, Texas, is a former Union Pacific passenger conductor, retiring re-tiring in 1962 after 52 years of railroading. He joined the Milford Lions Club in 1932, and has served as president, zone chairman, as a member of the state legislative leg-islative committee, and has been secretary of the local club since 1959. He holds the Lions Membesrhip Key, Advancement Key, Master Key, and will soon receive the Senior Master Key. SMITH Continued from Page One vcr County Chairman for the National Foundation, in 1940; he was the first Mayor of Mil-ford Mil-ford after the change from town to City status in 1948; was chairman of the local board of adjustment for the Order of Railway Conductors for 16 years and secretary of the General Board of Adjustment Adjust-ment for the Union Pacific system sys-tem for eight years, and is currently justice of the peace for Miiford, Miiford Precinct, and Beaver County. He is a member of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian Church, is now secretary sec-retary of Albert Pike Lodge No. 14, F & A M of Utah, and a member of El Kalah Shrine Temple. He is still a member of the Order of Railway Conductors, Con-ductors, and belongs to the Utah Peace Officers Association. Associa-tion. He married the former Gwendolyn Smith in Franklin, Idaho, in June, 1929. They have two daughters, Luciel and Joan, both living in Denver, Colo. |
