Show MEETINGS SET TO ESTABLISH COMMUNICATION The Better Schools Committee Commit-tee has been asked to spearhead spear-head a series of meetings designed de-signed to create a united effort on the part of those interested and involved in the educational program of cur community, according ac-cording to Glac'ys Whittaker, president of the group. Committees representing district dis-trict and local administration, faculty, parents, students, and school board members will be organized to participate in a series oi meetings to be held during the month of January. The purpose Oil iiiese maetingi is to enable each group to outline out-line their individual responsibility responsi-bility in working cooperative , ly together to improve schools through better communication. Also, at this time goals wil1 be set for future projects to be carried out during the rest of the year. The district and local administration admin-istration met with high school faculty members Jan. 11 to discuss dis-cuss their responsibilities in opening channels of communication communi-cation to parents and students and to elect two faculty members mem-bers to represent them on the local committee. On Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m. the Better Schools Committee will meet with the administrators faculty and school board representative: rep-resentative: to establish a cooperative co-operative program of communication communi-cation between parents and the schools. A meeting for the members cf the Student Council and the local committee has been set for Jan, 26, 7:30 p.m. These groups will then correlate their ideas with the student group and receive the student's suggestions. sug-gestions. "As a Better Schools Committee Com-mittee we feel that this united effort to establish channels of communication is a step in the right direction." Mrs. Whittakei said, "to build a strong bond between parents and all those interested in the welfare and education of our youth." |
