But there are other ways to team peanut butter with bread to arrive at delicious treats. Nutty Bread is such a recipe. It is a quick way to a delicious hot bread for breakfast or for serving with chocolate, coffee or tea. To make it, cut a loaf of bread into cubes, drizzle a mixture of corn syrup and peanut butter and sprinkle with chopped nuts. The bread is then heated in the oven about 15 minutes. Nutty Bread 1 round loaf unsliced white broad 12 cup margarine 2 tablespoons Skippy peanut butter 34 cup Karo light corn syrup 12 cup chopped nuts Slice bread vertically 5 to 7 times nearly to bottom of crust; then slice 5 to 7 times in opposite direction. Place on aluminum alumi-num foil curved around base of bread in shallow baking pan. Melt margarine and blend in peanut butter in small saucepan over low heat. Stir in corn syrup. Spoon over lop and sides of loaf drizzling mixture down all cut edges. Sprinkle nuts into cut edges and on top. Heat in 300F. oven 15 minutes or until heated through. Nots: One (1-pound) loaf of sliced firm bread may be used. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise and proceed as for round loaf. . , |
