Show GIRL SCOUTS HAVE WEEK-LONG CAMP Twenty-oine Girl Scouts of Troop 585 and six adults at-, tended a troop camp from July 13 thru the 17th, at Three Creeks in the Beaver Mountains. Moun-tains. The five-day camping trip culminated the winter's work and accomplishments of many badge activities for 13 Scouts. The other girls were Cadet Girl Scouts and were guests. Mrs. Naia Beard, junior troop leader, was camp director and Mrs. Charlotte Wise assistant camp director and in charge of food and cooking. Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Jensen served as camp nurse and Merritt Beard took care of tents, fires, etc. Miss Marsha Smith was counselor for the Cadets, assisted as-sisted by Miss Susan Yardley. The patrol leaders included Jackie Price, Kristi Wise, Carolyn Car-olyn Jensen and Lee Symond. Camp fire ceremonies and programs were held each night, also flag ceremonies, swimming and fishing were highlights of the trip. Mrs. Adrienne Roberts and Mrs. Maurine Yarotley, new leaders of the Cadets, visited the camp with their families Tuesday evening, bringing a chicken dinner. Other visitors were the Howard Lund family, Phyllis Price and Bill Smith. Furnishing trucks were staff members Maurine Yardley, Don Wisner, and Howard Lund. Parents made cakes, cookies and other goodies. David Beard, son of Mrs. Merritt Beard, served as mascot mas-cot on the outing. Handicrafts started at the camp will be completed at the next troop meeting, and will be displayed in the Dr. Kohler Dental Office windows. Junior Girl Scouters attending attend-ing the camp were Jackie, Jo-Ann Jo-Ann and Toni Wise, Michelle Wisner, Kristi Wise, Debbie Bolton, Vicki Raines, Betty Jean Friar, Carolyn Jensen, Carlene Roberts, and GeorgAnn Davie. Cadets included Lee Symond, Christine Smith, Betsy Yardley, Bonnie Perkins, La-Raine La-Raine Clark, Laura Lund, Judy Raines, Connie Miller, and guests Alice Bonadurer of St. George and Leslie Mount, a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Clay. |
