Show MILFORD SCHOOL KIDS HAVE FEWER CAVITIES One Milford Elementary School class shows "fewer cavities" cav-ities" this year, but no certain cer-tain tooth paste has been given credit for the decrease. "This indicates the positive results that can be obtained thru close cooperation between schools, parents, and our local dentists," is the way Dale Cropper, who supervised the annual Dental Survey, explained ex-plained it. Last year one class of 33 students had 25 students referred re-ferred to their family dentist with a total of 104 cavities. This year the same class had 14 . referrals with a total of 54 cavities. "The schools find that by pointing out to parents the health aspects of the children, many corrections are made which enable the child to have a better educational opportunity," opportun-ity," Mr. Cropper said. The survey showed Milford students needing treatment to be far below the average for the county. Ninety-nine of. 223 Milford Elementary students, or 44, were found to need treatment; 98 of 218 or 45 of the students in the high school needed treatment. In Minersville, 60 of the students examine needed treatment, treat-ment, and in Beaver the percentages per-centages were 67 in the Elementary El-ementary school and 73 in the high school. Of 1167 students in the district, dis-trict, 695 or 59 had cavities. |
