The Tigers, who led most of the game, just couldn't seem to get very far ahead of the " Hurricane five. In fact, the teams were tied at the half, and Hurricane was also ahead at one time by two points. But in the last quarter Milford built up a head of steam, and suddenly, to the dismay of the bewildered Hurricane squad, was ahead 10 points. Hurricane Hurri-cane tried to make up the deficit def-icit but only managed to whittle whit-tle the lead down to 8. F II A TO SERVE The F II A club added additional addi-tional funds to their savings when they accepted an offer to serve for the Old Tuners Banquet Ban-quet Saturday. Eight of the girls, Mrs. Rimpau and Mrs. Nolouise Scliow served and washed dishes. The money received re-ceived will go into the F H A funds to help pay for the new M II S Trophy Case. NEW STUDENT Ethyl Pierce of Garrison will enroll at Milford High School on Jan. 3, as a freshman. She is staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Van Memmott. Ethyl recently spent a few days in Milford getting acquainted with the Memmotts and the students of Milford High. CHRISTMAS CONCERT The Christmas Concert presented pre-sented by the Milford High School Band and Chorus was held at the Milford High auditorium, audi-torium, Dec. 19. The program included four - numbers by the Dance Band, and 14 Chorus students sang, accompanied by Joan Edwards. The High School Band and other Chorus members presented pre-sented additional numbers. The concert was enjoyed by everyone who attended, and the delightful music ushered in the holiday season. FACULTY " CHRISTMAS DINNER Students aren't the only ones who celebrate the holiday season sea-son with group parties. The Faculty and their partners held a Christmas dinner Thursday, Thurs-day, Dec. 20, in the Home Ec room. The dinner was under the direction of Mr. Pettey and Mr. Thomas. A delicious ham dinner was served. The meal was given the right Christmas flavor with table decorations created by Miss Terry and Miss Peterson. The dinner gave our teachers teach-ers just the right "push-off" to a happy holiday vacation. SENIOR AUTHORS The Senior English classes, under direction of Miss Terry, were required to write a research re-search paper on a subject of their choice. The research paper was to be not less than seven pages and not to exceed 12. The contents con-tents of the paper were to contain con-tain footnotes, outlines, title page, one book reference, note cards, a bibliography and word bibliography cards. The 'research 're-search papers were due Friday, Fri-day, Dec. 14. CHRISTMAS PARTY A Christmas party was a pleasant beginning for the FHA Club members Thursday, Dec. 20. The girls went Christmas caroling around town and afterward aft-erward had hot chocolate and sandwiches to whet their appetites. ap-petites. Small gifts were exchanged ex-changed by those in attendance, attend-ance, in keeping with the Christmas spirit. FORMER EDITOR SPEAKS Thursday, Dec. 13, the Milford Mil-ford High Journalism Class was honored with a guest speaker, Miss Georgia Beth Smiht. Miss Smith, graduate of Milford Mil-ford High School and graduate gradu-ate of Utah State University with a major in journalism, spoke to the class on the major points of the makeup of a high school newspaper. The students thoroughly enjoyed en-joyed Gorgia Beth's helpful information in-formation and gained splendid ideas from her. Continued on Back Page HERE'S MORE ABOUT SCHOOL NEWS Continued from Page One STUDENT AND FACULTY PICTURES The remaining student and faculty pictures have finally arrived. It was feared that they would not be here in time for the Christmas holidays, holi-days, but to the relief of the school, they came Monday. The pictures this year are, as a general rule, very good. Unlike Un-like other years, the pictures were given special touchup. The Adams Studio of Richfield was contracted to take these pictures, and both students and faculty are very pleased with the final results. NEW FURNITURE IN LOUNGE There have been 10 new chairs placed in the student lounge at M H S. These chairs are for the benefit of the students, stu-dents, and it is hoped that the chairs will receive good care. The chairs were first decided to be put in the lounge by the student council. The idea was voted on and passed, and soon the chairs of light green, durable plastic arrived for the loungs. Since the chairs arrived the lounge has taken on a brighter bright-er atmosphere and the students stu-dents seem to enjoy the new surroundings. I CHRISTMAS IN HOME EC Have you noticed a tempting aroma floating through the halls? Have you seen the little lit-tle snowmen, Santa Clauses, cookies, cakes and candy on display in the Home Ec Department? De-partment? The girls are busy preparing for Christmas. Mrs. Rimpau is giving the girls experience in making different assortments of tasty goodies for the holidays. They can go home and decorate their kitchens and surprise their family with a gift of fancy goodies. |
