Show TWO FIRES HIT MILFORD AT SAME TIME Damage estimated at $3500 to one home and complete loss of another resulted from two separate sep-arate fires which occured within with-in an hour of each other, early last week. The vacant home of Kenneth Myers, located in South Milford Mil-ford burned to the ground shortly before midnight. It contained mainly storage items. While the Milford Volunteer Fire Department was fighting ' the blaze at the Myers home, the Van Memmott rental home on South 100 West Street, occupied oc-cupied by Mr. and Mrs. Danny Bedingfield, caught fire. The crying of a small baby awoke Mrs. Bedingfield, who gave the alarm and endeavored to extinguish ex-tinguish the blaze, in the rear of the home, with a garden hose. Mr. Bedingfield was at work at the time. Assisted by neighbors, the blaze was controlled. con-trolled. The fire started in the kitchen, kit-chen, back of a washing machine. ma-chine. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the home and $1500 smoke damage to furniture and personal belongings. |
