Show Seventh-day Adventists Dedicate Hospital in Monument Valley The Milford Seventh-day Adventist church has learned of the fulfillment of their dream of a modern up-to-date hospital in Monument Valley, Utah. A special offering for this project was taken in the Milford church last summer. An announcement has been made by the west coast headquarters head-quarters of the dedication of this hospital Thursday afternoon, after-noon, May 4, at Monument Valley. The bulk of the contributions con-tributions has been made by the church organization in the states of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Ne-vada, California and Hawaii. The Navajo Tribal Council donated $20,000 together with other contributions of groups and individuals. The new hospital includes a surgery room, delivery room, isolation rooms, central sterile unit, out-patient rooms, and a modern, fully equipped nursery, nurs-ery, is headed up by Dr. J. Lloyd Mason, formerly of Bishop, Calif. The hospital is the only one within a radius of 100 miles and is located one mile north of the Arizona border in Utah in the center of Monument Valley. The Mission program was conceived 12 years ago and today includes a school, chapel, clinic, and this new hospital. Speaking for the church, Dr. Mason explains the project as a fullfillment of a desire by the church to better serve its Navajo neighbors. |
