Show M H S HI-LIGHTS By the Milford High School Journalism Class DELTA FOOTBALL Friday night, Sept. 23, the Milford Mil-ford Tigers traveled to Delta to play the Delta Rabbits in the second non-league game. The Tigers got off to a bad start, and the Rabbits scored twice and made one of the extra points in the first five minutes of play, to lead 13-0. After this first period of frustation the Tigers played good football. They could only score once against Deltas good defense, however, and the score stood at 13 to 6 at the end of the game. We, the editors, feel the Tigers Tig-ers will do very well in the league season. PEP ASSEMBLY M H S had a Pep Assembly Friday honoring the football team. Principal Pettey talked to the student body about better sportsmanship at pep assemblies and rallies. The students showed a lot of pep and enthusiasm. The band with their peppy music added much to the assembly, as did the girls of the Pep Class. TIGERETTE INITIATION Witches terrorized MHS Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Sept. 21. Riding their brooms, the new Tigerettes repeated re-peated a saying originated by the members, and bowing was a part of the tribute paid to the members. After school the girls were paraded down Main Street where they sold tissue paper. That evening the girls were pulled up and down the stairs and through the halls. Walking planks and drinking tiger blood were just a few events of the evening. Refreshments, furnished by the Tigerettes, were then prepared and served by the new members. CUBETTES The Cubettes held a meeting to decide on their new pep outfits. out-fits. These new outfits will consist con-sist of red Hyde Bermudas, white long-sleeved blouses, and red Keds. They also decided to donate to the student lounge. They are buying, along with the Tigerettes, the curtains for the lounge. The Cubette officers for this year are: LeAnn E r i c k s o n, president; Betty Lou McCulley, vice president; presi-dent; Vickey Ogden, secretary; Karen Thompson, drill master; Elaine Posey, party chairman; Vickie Stewart, sergeant at arms. MHS HAS NEW STUDENTS The Juniors this year are happy to have Mary Ann Moser from Monarch, North Dakota, in their class. Another newcomer in this class is Gary Marshall, from Pocatello, Idaho. An addition to the Sophomore class is Fred Smith from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Joan Low-der, Low-der, from Springville, is the only new Freshman this year. |
