Show i i. ( House Committee Lists Communist Atrocities The House Committee on Un-American Un-American Activities, which has received re-ceived continuous support from The American Legion from the time of its inception, in response to a Legion request has issued a 50-page booklet on atrocities and cruelties committed by F.ussian . Communists. The booklet contains 63 photographs, photo-graphs, which, the committee says, constitute an authentic record of Russian Communist atrocities and cruelties in European nations which the Reds overran. The pictures are from a collection collec-tion made by Klaus Samuli Gunnar Romppanen, a native of Finland, who came to the United States in 1949. A research analyst on international inter-national communism, Romppanen works with certain security and intelligence agencies of the federal fed-eral government. Rep. Francis E. Walter (D-Pa), chairman of the committee, stated that the publication is a look behind be-hind the Red facade of "sweetness and light" at the horror of communism com-munism in action. The purpose of the booklet, he said, is that we may ever remember, remem-ber, notwithstanding the tinsel and glitter, . . . that commun-! commun-! ism is in truth a human meat grinder grind-er which has destroyed more souls, more human beings, than any force since the dawn of time." Walter declared, "I would be less than candid if I did not observe ob-serve that many people have, and are being, duped by this new look of sweetness and light, co-existence, professions of peaceful existence, ex-istence, and the like, of the communist com-munist operation." |
