Show Stan McKnight Attends National Grazing Meet Stan McKnight of Minersville recently returned from Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, where he attended the 19th annual meeting of the National Na-tional Advisory Board Council for Grazing. The council meets at least once each year to advise the Bureau of Land Management in the Department Depart-ment of the Interior on current problems affecting the use of the Federally owned range land. The council devoted most of its sessions to discussion of proposed amendments to the Federal Range Code for Grazing Districts, the regulations under which the Federal Fed-eral range is governed. The council adopted resolutions favoring Federal legislation to affirm af-firm Western water rights, deferring defer-ring action upon wilderness legislation, legis-lation, and urging legislation to amend the desert homestead law in order to preclude entries involving in-volving the use of ground water for irrigation until a reliable determination de-termination has been made of the available supply. |
