Show ALO MESSINGE TALKS TO P.-T. A. GOUP Arlo Messinger, clerk of the Board of Education, was the guest speaker Monday at the Parent-Teacher Parent-Teacher Association meeting. His topic was "American High Schools of Today." Miss Anna Stark, supervisor of lower grades in the schools, presented pre-sented the Minersville school with , a set of children's books on foreign lands. Minersville students are busy decorating their school rooms in the Easter theme, and children in the lower grades are learning Easter Eas-ter poems and stories. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Carter have purchased the old Zabriskie lot from Frank Myers and are burning uprooted trees. It is surprising how sunny a lot can become with the removal of old trees. They plan to build a basement home on the lot. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Al-ton Marshall is nearly completed and the Marshalls plan to vacate the basement soon to enjoy their new home and the beautiful picture pic-ture windows which enhance the house. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor recently re-cently returned frim a vacation to Old Mexico. They are glad to be home and are appreciative of life in these parts compared to the very primitive mode of life in Old Mexico. Mrs. Leon Thompson was hostess host-ess at a birthday party in honor uf her husband Saturday evening. Mrs. Karen Carter furnished a lovely birthday cake. Those present pres-ent to enjoy a hot dinner, pinochle and bridge were Mr. and Mrs. Karen Carter, Mr, and Mrs. Dale Eyre, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Marshall, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myers. Leon received a group birthday gift. Mrs. Emily Dotson and Mrs. Rema Limb accompanied Dan Davis Da-vis to Salt Lake Tuesday. Mrs. Dotson and Jolyn will remain for a short vacation with her parents who reside there. O Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eyre and Mr. and Mrs. Carter were dinner guests at the home of relatives in Beaver Sunday. Mrs. Lynnea Marshall, Mrs. Melba Baker, Mrs. Cassie Mc-Knight Mc-Knight and Mrs. Anna Rae Carter visited in Cedar City Monday. Mrs. Ilene Gray has been ill the last week suffering from a back dislocation. Mrs. Verline Gray and two sons of Beaver were here helping her mother. A great nnmber of people have observed the March clean-up campaign cam-paign sponsored by the Centennial Committee and the Town Board, and have begun extensive cleaning. Let's not forget the little piles of scrapiron, worn-out machinery, piles of old lumber, worn-out appliances, ap-pliances, junked cars, etc., that seem to have a way of remaining in our yards. Robert Bonner is now at home recrperating from an operation perfrmed in the Iron County Hospital. Hos-pital. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis LeFevre of Mayballe, Colo., here to attend the wedding of their son Dyke, were visitors in Minersville for several days, guests of Mi, and Mrs. Doug Blackburn. They also inspected and approved the home which Doug has been remodeling for them. The LeFevres expect to make their home here next year. The Carter brothers, sons of G. W. Carter, have made a trip with equipment prior to starting construction con-struction of the new school build-ing, build-ing, and have returned to Monti-cello Monti-cello for another load. Mrs. Lucy Williams was a dinner guest at the home of Mrs. Paulina Carter Sunday. Later in the af1-crnoon af1-crnoon Mr. and Mrs. Neal Carter and family of Cedar City visited their mother. Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Eyre were hosts at dinner Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. Heber Gillins and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Eyre, Mrs. Rachel Eyre and Mrs. Alba Gillins. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin and family of Cedar City were in town Saturday.
