Show Red Cross Conducted Swim Course in Milford During the summer of 1957 the American National Red Cross completed a course in Life Saving and Water Safety and another in the training of Instructors. This course was under the direction of Max Mason, Mas-on, District Director of First Aid and Water Safety, National Red Cross, and was completed at the Milford Municipal Pool. Under this program qualified persons were given instructions in Water Safety and Instruct-orship. Instruct-orship. Nine persons, enrolled with four completing the course, consisting of 80 hours of instruction in-struction and practice. A final written exam had to be passed to receive certificates. Darryl Schramm, Bonnie Easton and Lee Pettey completed complet-ed courses in Senior Life Saving Sav-ing and Water Safety Instructor, Instruct-or, and Kenneth Munk completed com-pleted the Senior Life Saving Course. The successful completion c'f this course makes it possible for all persons in Milford to have free instruction given them by qualified Red Cross instructors. in-structors. A series of courses are now being planned for the coming summer. All expens3s for this instruction instruc-tion were borne by the American Amer-ican Red Cross, and amounted to more than $300. In this one phase of Red Cross service Milford Mil-ford has received back almost as much money as was contributed contrib-uted to the National Chapter last year. |
