"1 prefer 'The Apprentice,' though - not 'Survivor.' They've just done that too much. Aren't they in like their 14th season or something? There's just too many." According to WSU student Karan Webecke, reality TV can be a real waste of time. "Yeah,.I used to watch like the first couple seasons of'Survivor,' and I like 'Fear Factor,' but people just get too caught up watching reality that they forget to live it," Webecke said. Many students don't feel like they have the time to watch reality TV. WSU student Aprille Montes is one ot these, though at times she will indulge herself. "1 don't mind 'American Idol,' I guess," Montes said. "It's kind of fun to listen to them sing and see some people really make it. The idea of reality TV, though, is starting to be used too much. It's almost like every other show is a reality show." Montes and Howell are not alone in their watching reality TV. "If one of them is on when I'm flipping channels, I'll watch - but usually not long enough to remember what the show is," said Kris Draper, WSU student. "The only one I don't like is 'Fear Factor' when they eat stuff - and they're always eating something gross on the commercials. With all sorts of reality shows on TV today, students have many different opinions concerning what shows they watch, if any. There are so many reality shows that most any hobby is portrayed: cars, houses, domestic life, singing, stunts, acting, getting rich fast. No matter what the competition, there's always a trial; and always a prize for the winner. These elements, plus others, make reality television appealing to some WSU students and society at large.
