Show wedding of Matt Star in Helper last Saturday. Mrs. William Ziemet of Grants ville spent last week end visiting visit-ing with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hawkins and family. Her husband joined her here Sunday. Mrs. Merle Watson and sons spent last Saturday night with her mother, Mrs. Rose Yengich who hasn't been feeling well. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hawkins received word this week that their son, Jack, with the Fifth Cavalry company stationed in Japan, is training in parachuting. parachut-ing. COMMUNITY HOUSE Dr. Roy Carpenter and son, Paul, visited in Highland Boy Sunday and Monday among the many friends who were formerly former-ly of his churches in Ojo, Cali-ente Cali-ente and Petaca, N. Mex. Several Sev-eral families entertained him at a pot luck supper at the Community Com-munity House Sunday evening before he preached at the evening ev-ening service there. Mr. and Mrs. Leichtle of Petaca, Pe-taca, N. Mex., visited at the HIGHLAND BOY' Mrs. Frances B. Hawkins Ph. 598-M Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Heck and family are very proud to receive word that their son, Robert, has earned his third stripe. Robert, is now petty officer second class. Shirley Pantalone visited at the E. A. Beck home last Saturday Satur-day evening. Mrs. Milka Smilanich return-I return-I ed home Monday from a three-l three-l weeks trip that took her to : BoLse, Idaho, where she visited with her son, Steve, and Bridge-: Bridge-: port, Wash., where she was guest of her sister and husband, Mr. : and Mrs. George Piedmont. The two sisters also visited with friends in Portland, Ore. On the homeward trip Mrs. Smilanich ! visited at Sacramento and Sus-janville, Sus-janville, Calif., and stopped at Keno, Nev. She made most of , the trip by air. I Mary and Joe Loverirh and Milan Smilanich attended the home of their son, Albert, last week. Highland Boy children and young people attended their ninth swimming lesson at the Civic Center Tuesday evening for the fall course. Their were 48 in attendance, the average has been 44. Parents have been enthusiastic at the progress shown. Thanks go to the Salt Lake County Recreation department, depart-ment, local leaders, Miss Bates the teacher, and to the Community Commu-nity House staff. Home Guards are busy little girls in their mission study, their gift making projects and in their cooking class. Miss Mildred May left Monday Mon-day evening for u months vacation vaca-tion trip at home with her family fam-ily in Danville, Ky. |
