Show Signpost May 1, 1981 Page 3 Intercollegiate Corner by Greg Hill Student body elections at Utah State University were especially tiring for Stan Sisk this year. Sisk ran as a write-in candidate for the ASUSU presidency using the alias "George L. Tirebiter." In keeping with his assumed name, Sisk used several old tires as a campaign gimmick and placed them near "Old Main" on the USU campus. As anyone familiar with Utah State knows, "Old Main" sits at the top of Old Main Hill, and that was the cause of the problem. Certain people thought that it would be fun to roll the tires down the hill on a street lined with parked cars as well as moving traffic. Chaos resulted. One man had $140 damage done to his car and is seeking restitution from Sisk, since he was the only one who might be considered liable. The perpetrators of the act could not be found. USU president Stanford Cazier ordered the tires removed after hearing about the incident. Dormers at the University of Idaho had a chugging good time a couple of weeks ago during their traditional GDI Week. The week's activities were paid for as well as enjoyed by groups living in the campus dorms. Events during the week included a turkey trot, a Friday night dance, games, and lots of drinking contests. The high point of the beer chugging contests came when Brian Bateman won the marathon by taking only seven seconds to gulp 64 ounces of beer. Bateman also downed two 20-ounce beers in 4.4 seconds to win the individual championship. There was no word on his condition at the end of the competition. Beer seemed to be an important element in the week's activities as keg tossing and keg rolling contests were included with the chugging.
