Show May 12, 1978 Signpost I 'am- 5 Spring fever week The College Activities Board announced its Spring Fever Week schedule of events. The "Splash 'n' Flash Spring Fever Week" begins Monday at noon with a coed swimsuit fashion show. Sixteen models will demonstrate the latest in men's and women's bathing wear. Anyone interested in participating should contact Marilyn McCormick at ext. 476 immediately. Tuesday features the Royal Lichtenstein Circus performing at the Ada Lindquist Plaza. The Annual Awards and Honors ceremonies are scheduled for Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Graduates wishing to attend the Baccalaureate service Friday, June 2, should arrive at the Dee Events Center by 7:20 p.m. Each graduate has been sent four tickets to the service, but the tickets will only reserve the seating until 7:20 (the service begins at 7:30), after which the public will be seated. Music at the service will be provided by the Tabernacle Choir and the Spoken Word. Additional tickets are available from the Graduation Office. She credits her cheerful, positive attitude to her parents and family. "They've always encouraged me to do what I can do . . .I've never known them to say "no; don't do that." Sandy's parents have two children with Muscular Atrophy. "I think it's a privilege to have them in our home," Mrs. Boothe said. "Our children are very special people, and they enjoy life." She listed, Sandy's hobbies crocheting and needlepoint, art work, singing, helping the church, typing, and being active in the Relief Society. Associate Prof, gets Dr.'s degree A doctoral degree in educational administration has been awarded to Karen W. Beaver, Weber State College associate professor and director of the practical nursing program. The degree was conferred by Brigham Young University this spring. The title of her dissertation was "Task Analysis of Nursing Personnel in Long Term Care Facilities in Utah." Dr. Beaver earned an associate degree in nursing from WSC in 1957, a bachelor of science degree in nursing frm the University of Utah in 1959, and a master's degree in educational psychology from Brigham Young University in 1972. She has been a member of the WSC faculty since 1963. She is currently active on several professional nursing and education committees. Dr. Beaver has served as a consultant to the Licensed Practical Nurse Association of Utah, an has held administrative positions in the National League for Nursing, the Utah Nurses Association, and the Utah State Board of Nursing. She is a member of a number of professional nursing and educational organizations, including the American Nurses Association and the American Association of University Women.
