Instructor Louise Kingsbury explained, "Public relations is an absolutely mushrooming career area. Weber State is very much into career training and technical education. And public relations has become common on campuses in the last 10 years. We have felt a growing demand by the students for such a program." The new program requires 30 specific course hours and 15 hours of electives. Now, with the upsurge of graduates in public relations, this is no longer the case. After graduation, PR people can expect to earn nearly twice as much as a beginning broadcast or newsperson.
