Rose did, however, qualify for the NCAA Track Meet, although WSC Coach Chick Hislop says he probably will not participate in the annual affair this year. Perhaps the surprise of the entire meet came ,from Weber's Mike Giltner a javelin thrower who first picked up the spear only six weeks ago and who had a previous best of only 192-8 (8th best in conference), but who had three throws over 200 feet including one tremendous throw of 220-8 to nail down 2nd place in the conference meet. 52 foot progression Giltner, a linebacker on WSC's football team could not play spring football because of an Weber fourth With the Big Sky Track and Field Meet for 1976 now over, the Big Sky Athletic Conference has completed the 1975-76 season.
