For others, the concrete structures have a strange resemblance of stairways to heaven. The concrete construction which has been going on throughout the campus for the last year has never been noticed as much as it has been during the last month. Much of this is because construction is coming to an end. According to Robert Folsom, Director of Campus Planning and Construction, the concrete work around the Fine Arts Building is finished. Other areas, such as around the Administration Building, by the fountain, between the Union Building and the Fountain and the two sets of stairs leading from the parking lot to the practice field behind the Fine Arts, are the last sections of cement needed to be completed. This should be done within three weeks, says Folsom, if the weather holds up. Crews are also taking advantage of the weather to green up the campus with various trees and shrubbery. Over a thousand trees are to be planted around Weber State, while bushes will continue to be planted along the Fine Arts, around the Administration Building, by the Education Building, and around the Library. Sections of lawn are being set in place to help give that finished look. Folsom said crews are taking "some of the grass around the step areas and putting it into Council meets Priorities and planning By Bob Alzugarat The Constitution of the Forum for the Advancement of Students in Science and Technology, (FASST), was the major item of legislation passed at Thursday's Executive Council meeting. Stephen Rowe, one of the major organizers of the group, stated FASST will "create a three way network between industry, students and government agencies." According to the Constitution the purpose of the group is "to express the viewpoint of college students of and related to science and technology." Membership is open to any Weber State student who supports the purpose of the organization. The Constitution received unanimous approval by the Council. Priority list Also on Thursday, Robb Alexander, Public Relations vice president, announced the priority order for campus organizations advertising in the Signpost. The order is as follows: 1. ASWSC funded organizations. 2. The Convocation Committee and the College Activities Board. 3. Charter Student Organizations. 4. Other. Long-Range Planning Darcell Stucki, Academic vice president, explained at Thursday's meeting that the Administration is currently formulating a Long Range Planning Council. According to Stucki the Council would have little ASWSC input because no students will be included. Stucki recommended that the Executive Council study the possibility of forming their own Long Range Planning Council to coordinate planning in all campus areas and supervise the long range plan of the College. This Council would also include much student input, says Stucki. J' I IT TWO NEW STAIRWAYS by the Fine Arts makes for quick access to and from the lower athletic field. They are located by the south end of the Fine Arts building. the shrubbery areas in order to make maintenance a little easier and to give a carry over from the Social Science landscaping." The final touch of the project is, of course, the lighting. To date, the lighting is two-thirds completed and is expected to be finished before the end of the month. Dinner show Sat. night "Night Cap: Live" will be the dinner show on Saturday in the Union Building Skyroom. The dinner will be between 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8:45 p.m. The cost is $2.50 per person. Tickets are available at the UB desk. "Night Cap: Live" is a student sponsored dinner with entertainment. Several of these dinner shows will be held periodically throughout the year. These productions are organized by the Entertainment committee and are under the chairmanship of Patti Nowak. Nowak says the dinner shows are for students who need some place to take a date at an inex pensive rate.
