Show poae 16 THE SIGNPOST May 19, 1967 'Disneyand' State College "It's great going to school at Disneyland State," said Annette, lately of Mouseketeer fame. "You betcha," said Pluto, Goofy and Huey, Louie and Dewey and 1001 Dalmations, or so. "We don't have many problems, and we haven't got many worries, and MOST OF ALL," shouted Annette who had a hard time being unenthusiastic, "Most of all we have plenty of parites!" "We all work so hard in class and in making the school better," said Annette with much feeling, "parties are just so necessary, and I'm so grateful that Uncle Scourge (McDuck) and Mickey Mouse have been so inspired and blessed us so." Pluto and Goofy and friends paused and reflected upon the truth. "Too bad Donald Duck has to spoil everything," said one very insignificant Dalmation. "Donald Duck's just a trouble maker," said Annette, "Don't pay any attention to him or to those other trouble makers." Just then from behind the Fan-tasyland union building castle came Mickey Mouse. "I'm proud of your spirit and loyalty," said Mickey to Annette. "We don't need any Duck-Trouble! Right?" "What's Duck trouble?" asked Goofy. "Duck Trouble?" Mickey said emphasizing the L -sound through his teeth. It's very complicated to explain. You start, Annette." "Well, last year," said Annette, "we kindly gave the school literay magazine, Flubber, $449, even though no one buvs it or reads it." "After the first issue," continued Mickey, "Which was a , fair magazine but nobody read it. Donald Duck and Crew organized a new feature magazine which was a fair idea." "But," said Annette Furiously, "It was a front. They only wanted money for a spring issue." "And you know what that would have meant," said Mickey with much feeling,- " the S90.00 would have jeaporized the annual Disney-Loo Hawaiian Fun Party, after-all what does a State College want more: a Fun Free Party or a Magazine?" "Parties:" shouted Annette loudest. "And that's not all to Duck-Trouble, the kindly executive Executives recommended an amazingly high sum of $847 for the magazine, for next year "Yes and that's almost a 50 per cent increase over the $499 we graciously gave them last year." Mickey continued. "I thought the feature magazine was going to include stuff about sports and about different clubs and teachers and departments on campus?" asked one of the Dalmations (who lived in the Residence Hall.) "And be distributed free," said another Dalmation. "Only 2000 copies were going to be printed." said Annette. "So?" said Goofy, "The newspaper only prints 3500 and at other schools they only print for a third or so of their studentbodies." "Yeah and how many people are they going to have to hire to sell 1100 worth of magazines?" asked Pluto. "Well, people can't go around getting something for nothing," shouted Annette. "How come we get in free to the $1000 Disney-Loo?" "Only if you white wash the "M M" on the Adventure-Land Hill," said Annette righteously. "Do 2000 people come to theDisney-Loo?" "Well," said Mickey, "You're missing the point, what do you want anyway, parties or juuk you never read?'' With that Mickey walked away. "MICKEY MOUSE:" cheered Annette. |
