Seattle against the improved Seattle Chieftains. Seattle, with a big two point victory over Utah, will be seeking revenge when the Cats hit town Friday. Weber beat Seattle 80-72 in mid January at Ogden, and the Chieftains will be hoping to return the favor on their home court, the Seattle Coliseum. Coach Morris Buckwalter's charges have a two game winning streak going and their record now stands at 7-12. The Chieftains young sophomore-laden team is beginning to jell and the Utah win was the top performance of the year according to Buckwalter. The Wildcats, under Dick Motta, have a fine road record this season, winning four out of five away contests. This week's game however, may prove to be the toughest road test to date. Weber is riding a seven game winning streak and another victory would certainly enhance the Wildcat image in the basketball world. The Seattle-Weber series stands at 2-1 for the Wildcats and the Chieftains are in a good position to even up the competition. Leap-in' Lou West, the Chiefs great 6-3 forward, is really coming on now and he will be tough to stop. After fourteen games, 6-0 guard Justus Thigpen continues to head the Weber scoring column with a 16.7 average. He is followed by 6-8 center Dan Sparks at 14.5, 6-7 forward Larry Bergh with 10.5, 6-5 forward Nolan Archibald with 10.3, 6-2 Monte VreNon at 6.6, 5- 10 guard Roger Reid and 6-7 forward Gus Chatmon at 5.9, and 6- 7 forward Ted Bryand at 7.9. Motta will probably start a five-some ofSparks, Bergh, and Archibald on the front line with VreNon and Thigpen at guard. Chatmon, Bryant, and Willis Bellamy are expected to see action up front, with Reid counted on for back-court duty. Weber has been playing quite well on the road, however, last week's squeaker at Northern Arizona was not one of the Cats' best performances. Motta's men will have to get together an outstanding effort to have a chance of beating Seattle again. The Seattle team, with its youth movement, may have found the spark to ignite some very talented players. West, Tommy Little, 3 L - '68 VOLKSWAGEN $249.00 DOWN $51.49 PER MONTH $249 down (plus lax. And extra padding all around. All the new features combined with 27 miles per gall-on and the numerous other economy features make this year's buy even a better value, if that's possible. ROY STRONG MOTORS 3333 Washington Blvd. Steve Looney, John Wilkins, Jim LaCour, Jim Gardner and the other Chieftains are "putting it all together" according to scouting reports and there is no doubt they will be ready to even the score on Weber. FROSH ON THE ROAD After Monday night's action at Rock Springs against Western Wyoming, the Weber freshman team will travel to Twin Falls and Boise Idaho, to tangle with tough Southern Idaho and Boise College. The Wildkittens will meet Southern i Idaho on Feb. 5, and Boise on Feb. 6. These two games will prove to be tough tests for the 9-1 Weberfrosh (9-1 prior to Monday's game with W. Wyoming.) Southern Idaho probably has the top junior college team in the in-termountain area and boasts two wins over BYU's highly touted first year team. c3 Is YOUR degree in ENGINEERING, the SCIENCES, BUSINESS or LIBERAL ARTS?
