Show The Utah Legislature completed its sixty davs' term at 12 midnight Thursday, Thurs-day, without electing a Senator. Rarely Rare-ly has a state legislative body made a worse record. Time has been fritted away in empty talk and very little accomplished. ac-complished. That the session will be prolonged is more than likely, but even though a Senator be elected, it is questionable ques-tionable whether such election will be legal. The hostility of certain members mem-bers to legislative measures that would make the existance of country newspapers news-papers possible in some of the sparsely settled counties, of this State will not he forgotten. In this regard they differ dif-fer front the Idaho Legislature, which has enacted newspaper laws that protect pro-tect the people while encouraging that, best aid to modern civilization, the newspaper. |
