Show Tin: CITY I'AKK. Our City fathers are to be commended commend-ed fur their action in setting apart the south half of the public square as a park, and for their decision to plant it with trees and apply six lots of water for that purpose. Some time in the future when St. George has a band a handstand will lie erected there, and the women and children can gather together on hoi i-days i-days under the shade of beautiful trees, and on summer evenings to listen to and enjoy the strains of sweetly discoursed dis-coursed music If the matter of planting plant-ing trees k I al en in hand at once they will gel a good Ht.art this summer, but planting must not be delayed or it will be too late to get them in this spring. We respectfully suggest to our citv fathers that if mulberrys are planted that they bo of the barren variety, as those that bear fruit cause myriads of Hies to gather during the time the fruit is falling. The establishment of a park is a move in the right direction and will be appreciated, |
