Show IIEliliOX. Most every man and boy of this place that can handle a team or shovel are at work on the Enterprise reservoir in company with a force of hands from St. George, Pine Valley and other places. So you see while the men and boys are all gone, us girls hold the fort. Some of us were on the hill where we could see the men at work on the dam; some teams hauling rock, some sand, some hauling water, and it looked like about a dozen with big scrapers on Wheels hauling dirt; three or four masons were on the wall with their helps running to and fro, and the blacksmiths hammering hammer-ing at red-hot iron as if for dear life, and not one of the busy people seemed to even have time to swing hia hat to the girls on the hill. Last Thursday three or four wagonloads of them came down from the reservoir, the boys said to hear the cannon fired, but they did not return Until next day, as President David H. Cannon and John E. Pace, of St. George, held a meeting and preached preach-ed to us. We all had a time of rejoicing, rejoic-ing, and we hope they will not let this be the last time they call on us. At this meeting, all of the officers of the ward were sustained we have no contrary con-trary people here. Hebronite, Hebron, Utah, November 12, 1898. |
